Teams, businesses and workplaces

Bring your workplace

Your team can help keep Ele’s Place groups free. Volunteer together, raise money, give supplies, or ask your HR team about matching gifts. Call the branch nearest your workplace to start.

Offices open Monday–Thursday 9am–5pm, Friday 9am–1pm (Eastern). Voicemails are returned the same or next business day.

Volunteer as a team

  • Help at events. Teams can work the registration area, set up and clean up, decorate and serve refreshments at events hosted by Ele’s Place or by other organizations.
  • Clean and sort at a center. Your group can sanitize toys, sort craft supplies, and wash doorframes and walls, or clean group rooms and kitchens. This is daytime help, during business hours only, and it is great for groups and for teens. Call the branch to pick a date that works for the program.
  • Attend or host a Tour of the Heart. A tour is a way to see what children do at Ele’s Place. It is not a fundraiser, and visitors are asked for nothing. Invite co-workers. Tours are not for newly bereaved families.

Working directly with children takes more. Those volunteers complete an extensive training and interview process. Learn about becoming a facilitator.

Host a workplace fundraiser

You or your group can raise money for programs that are free to families. Ideas that Ele’s Place has suggested:

  • A dress-down day at work, with $5 to take part and all proceeds going to Ele’s Place.
  • A car wash, a garage sale, a pop can drive, or a bake sale.

Call the branch nearest you for the Third-Party Event Guidelines before you begin.

Match and give

Many employers match gifts that their employees make to nonprofits. Rules differ by employer. Ask your HR team or check your benefits site to find out if yours does.

Give supplies

Many families share a potluck when they arrive for their group. Ele’s Place can always use basic grocery items to add to it. Please call the branch nearest you at least one week ahead, to get the potluck guidelines and to set a date that works for the program.

Have an idea that is not listed here? Call your local branch and share it with staff.

Join an event

Businesses can sponsor an Ele’s Place event, or send a team to help at one.
